That was one of the reasons I chose not to keep the sportster muffler on mine. the rear brake lever was too hat to touch after a ride around the block. If I wanted to keep it I would find someone with a torch and heat and stretch the backside enough to redirect the heat. Or find a used HD slash cut taht will work. Max
